My DD (5) LOVES to use her scissors, so naturally she's right there when I break out my coupons to be clipped!!
She does very well, and it's turned into our "Mother-Daughter-Sunday-morning" thing to do together!! And, at a young age, at the same time I am teaching her the value of money!!

My DH usually cuts mine out for me! Usually we stop after church to get the paper (except yesterday because I didn't go ) and while I'm making lunch he cuts them.

Yesterday, for the first time, I bought more than one paper for the coupons. I bought two. Afterwards I found out that DH was bringing me the coupons from TWO OTHER papers from work!!
DD and I only got as far as getting the ones from the two papers I bought cut out, so I've got my work cut out for me today!! (No pun intended!! )

my 7 yr old doesn't want anything to do with them.. but my 3yr old says
"mommy??? you cuttin' coooopons? me help?"
Then she procedes to put my paper scraps into the recycling bag &/or putting the coupons I don't need into an envelop to go through for the train I'm on.
DD-7 likes to cut the coupons and usually asks and WANTS to do it for me. DD-3 wants to but everytime I let her I find a coupon that I really wanted cut in half or the barcode cut off. At least she tries.

That's funny!! My DD did that with one yesterday!! I wasn't upset though, because it was one for makeup. And people rarely ask for those.
What I do, is clip them out "somewhat", and then let her cut them out the rest of the way.
She does mess up on occasion, but that's no biggie. It's just fun to do with her.
