- I shop at Walmart, Kmart, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Glens and Target. Then I remember that Walmart matches ads, so that if there is a really good deal at Target, but not worth the gas and time it takes to get there I'll get that item at Walmart along with the deals I get there.
- I also compare the ads to see if the deal isn't just a bit cheaper (I'm talking a few pennies) somewhere else. Those Pennies ad up.
- I stockpile items that I know won't go bad: toothpaste, shampoo, soap, laundry soap, canned goods, diapers. etc. Right now I have three huge boxes of fabric softener, 2 tubes of toothpaste, about 6 bags of diapers (In her size and her next size), 6 bottles of my fav. laundry soap, toothbrushes that I got for almost free. You'll need a tooth brush until you die and you are supposed to change them out every three months, so why not stock up when the price is right?
- I got on a few coupon trains to make sure that I always have a coupon for any item I need.
- I trade coupons with other moms to get the best baby coupons for the brands I use. Right now I have over 20 pampers coupons.
- Then I watch the sales ads and match my coupons up. I also go to all my stores at least once a week because sometimes they have unadvertised sales. I have a sister that works at Glens and keeps an eye out for me there.
- My motto is this: A great deal is worth the time it takes to find it!
