Hello Ladies!

I WENT TO KROGERS YESTERDAY AND MY BILL WAS $120.00 AND AFTER COUPONS I SPENT $46.31. I SAVED ALMOST ALMOST $75 WITH MANUFACTURED COUPONS AND THE KROGER'S CARD!

THE GREAT THING WAS MY DH of over 20 years WAS WITH ME AND HE WAS SO HAPPY!

I KEPT GOING BACK AND FORTH CHECKING COUPONS, PRODUCTS, SALES TAGS, ETC AND HE SAID ...
" LOOK HOW HIGH PRICED EVERYTHING HAD GOTTEN!" and "MAN..THIS TAKES SOME TIME." and "YOU CAN SPOT THOSE CLOSEOUT STICKERS AND SALE PRICES A MILE AWAY!" and "I AM GETTING TIRED ARE WE DONE YET?" lol

HIS JOB WAS HOLDING THE COUPONS THAT I WAS GOING TO USE AND PUSHING MY BUGGY.

WE DID THE FOOTBALL SALES ALSO...9 PRODUCTS AND $6 OFF..WE BOUGHT 15 DIFFERENT CHEESES AND 4 OTHER PRODUCTS PLUS HAD COUPONS ON THOSE. AND THEY HAD MINUTE MAID JUICE FOR 50 CENTS A CARTON BECAUSE THEY HAD AN OVERSTOCK AND IT WAS 1 WEEK SELL BY DATE. WE BOUGHT 4. THEY WERE REGULARLY $3 EACH. I BOUGHT ONLY THE THINGS I KNEW WE WOULD USE!

YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN HIS FACE WHEN WE WERE CHECKING OUT. HE WAS NOT ONLY HAPPY HE WAS PROUD BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE WERE PAYING FULL PRICE AND WE WEREN'T AND HE FELT A PART OF IT BECAUSE HE WAS THERE AND HELPED.
HE SAID... SEE THAT IS WHY I DON'T WANT YOU WORKING A JOB BECAUSE I NEED YOU HERE SAVING US MONEY...this IS your job! YOU SAVED MORE IN A DAY THAN YOU WOULD HAVE MADE IN A WEEK WORKING PART TIME AFTER YOU FIGURE IN TAXES< GASOLINE AND A SITTER!!

He kept kissing my head...he was so proud. I AM GLAD HE WAS WITH ME BECAUSE I HAD BEEN FEELING BAD ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO BRING MORE MONEY IN. HE LOVES ME AT HOME. I HAVE WORKED OUTSIDE THE HOME BEFORE AND WAS JUST MISSING THE STEADY PAYCHECK A WEE BIT. I NOW AVON, EBAY, KID's CONSIGNMENT SALE TWICE A YEAR, YARD SALE A FEW TIMES A YEAR BUT WAS FEELING BLUE ABOUT HOW HIGH THINGS WERE GETTING AND THIS YEAR I TOLD MYSELF I WAS GOING BACK TO COUPONING & FREEBIES. THAT WAS ONE OF MY RESOLUTIONS THIS YEAR.

I FEEL BETTER.

That's awesome!

I should try to take my husband with me so he can see that when he picks up things here and there from the store, paying full price and not knowing if we have it at home that he is hindering, not helping...

That's AWESOME! Im glad you got your box together again and that it is working for you. I've taken DH shopping with me before... but i'd rather leave him home with the kids (cuz he puts things in the cart that we don't need!! ) I save more when he's not with me...

Great job, MsJoyce!! And I know exactly what you mean about feeling like you don't "contribute" as much as you'd like to the household. I mean, being at home and running the household IS work, but I know what you mean about the actual FINANCIAL aspect of it. And I agree that you ARE contributing monetarily when you save money using coupons. GOOD FOR YOU!! I'm so glad this makes you feel like it's worthwhile!!

Congratulations! It does take a lot of time to get everything organized, and be on the lookout for the really great clearance deals that get even better when you have coupons for them, but it is soooo worth it. And it is awesome that your husband truly appreciates how you "support" the family

I also fall into the trap of not feeling like I'm contributing to the family...but WE ARE! And we do a darned good job of it .
Good job, darlin!!
