I never get embarassed, but sometimes I get nervous. Once in a while a coupon beeps for some unknown reason. I never knowingly hand over a coupon for a product/size I didn't get. I usually go shopping around the same time every week, and see the same cashiers. They know I don't try to do anything fraudulent, so they do what they can to put the coupon through.
It's only when I get a new-to-me cashier or have to shop at a different store that I get a little nervous that the cashier thinks I'm trying to do something illegal when the coupon beeps.
Yet each week, I love seeing coupons bring down my total.

When I first started using coupons I was embarrased. I guess I was just paranoid. Then I realized, hey I am saving money tons of money! I always try to tell the person behind me that I have coupons and I may be a while....most people seem not to mind though. In fact, many people who see how much money I save are truely impressed. I end up feeling proud in the end.

I'm in the minority here. I've been using coupons for over 10 years and I still get nervous every time I check out.

Maybe it comes from years of being questioned by my cashiers. I can count on one hand the number of times that a cashier has been courteous or excited about my savings.

My store has recently started accepting internet coupons and I get the questionable looks and scrutiny every time I use them. My grocer has them on their own website, and I have still have been told numerous times that I can't use them!!

I usually do my shopping early in the morning when only one lane is open. I do feel bad when I hold up someone behind me. If I see somene that only has a couple of items, I'll let them go ahead before I start my checkout. If there is more than one lane open, I don't feel as bad, as that person could have gone to another lane, or to the express lane, which is usually open.

Ok, my rant is over, but I will continue to use coupons and plan my grocery shopping around them. Yesterday, I saved a total of $109.55 using coupons and my club card. That is 77%. How can I not use them with savings like that??

I guess I just need to tough my hide a bit more.

It doesn't bother me to use coupons. Especially the last time I went to walmart. I had $21 in coupons.

That's pretty good for Walmart! I never have many coupons to use there. I usually save them for my grocery store because it doubles coupons! Great Job!
