I have about 6 or 7 letter sized envelopes rubber banded together. I divide them up into one envelope per category (examples - hba, meat/dairy, cleaning, etc). Then inside the envelope I arrange them from front to back by expiration date, with the closest expiration date in the front. These reminds me to use a good coupon before it expires, as well as makes purging expireds easy.

When I get ready to shop, I make a list and then pull any necessary coupons and clip them to the list. I still carry the others with me, just in case.

I have one messy pile for me and one messy pile of things people on my train are looking for. If I'm lucky they are paperclipped.

I'd like to know more about the train too. How does it work?
