My husband wants texan chili and I have no clue what he's taking about. He says the best chili he's ever had is in Texas and when you ask a Texan for the recipe they won't share it. Is there anyone that has a recipe they're willing to share? TIA

Texas chili, huh? I usually open some cans. My basic recipe is:

2 cans turkey chili (no beans)
1 can stewed tomatoes (undrained)
2 cans Ranch Style beans (undrained)

Open your cans...heat until simmering. Very simple and good...but probably not what your husband had in mind.

My brother's MIL makes the best chili I've ever had. She shared her recipe with me for a family cookbook, so I'll share with you. When I make it, I don't use so much of the spicy stuff because I'm a pansy. This also makes A LOT. Chili freezes well.

6 lbs. Ground Sirloin
1 whole chopped bell pepper
1 large chopped yellow onion
Cook until meat is well browned
Add 1 package “hot” Williams Chile Mix
Add 2 packages McCormick Chile Mix (regular/not hot)
Add 1 Large Can of Stewed Tomatoes – preferably Delmonte or Hunt’s (off brands have green, yucky tomatoes) –
Add 1 Large Can of Tomato Sauce – Delmonte or Hunt’s
Simmer for at least 30 minutes
Add 3 cans of Ranch Style Pinto Beans
Simmer 15 more minutes
