Well..... It was awful! Super cheap chicken IS super cheap chicken. Now that I own it the only way it can be used is if I cook it and clean it and use it just little peices. I have learned that the bigger fresh not frozen is a better deal, because it doesn't ruin dinner.

I've been using only dark meats (fresh not store-frozen in a bag though) in my crock pot for a while now and I have no complaints. Was it that your meal turned into a fatty mess? Did you prep your chicken first if it wasn't skinless before throwing it in the crock? If you cooked it with the skin on ewwww IMHO but this goes for dark or white meat in my experience. I also skin roaster chickens before cooking them in the crock if I'm planning on using the gravy, if I don't the gravy isn't salvageable because of the grease. If I'm not using the gravy then I just peel the skin off the chicken before I serve and boy oh boy TENDER chicken!
