Has anyone cooked a whole chicken in a crock pot? I'd like to do this but am worried the chicken will come out dry.

Any suggestions?

Recipes?

I have done it multiple times, but it is not my favorite way to make a whole chicken. You can follow any recipe you want as far as seasoning the whole chicken. I like to stuff lemon slices and fresh herbs between the skin & the meat, or in the cavity of the chicken. The only thing I didn't like was that if I did it on a weekday, the chicken was overcooked by the time I got home. I think if you cook it for more like 6-8hrs than 8-10 hrs you may not have that problem. Do you still have the recipe book from your crockpot? That might have a recipe & cooking time you can follow.

I cook whole chickens in the crock pot all the time. In fact the recipe I use is posted here. I will bump it up for you to look at. It will be under the Crock Pot cooking section. Here's the link to it too.
