I will be making a pot roast in the crockpot. I'd like to throw some chunks of potatos and carrots in with it. When would I put the potatos and carrots in the pot? TIA

I do it about an hour before I want to serve! I like mine not to be absolute mush, though!

I'm with Jennifer, I do mine about 2 hours before it's done...I like them soft, but not mushy.....

To me it depends on if I am cooking on high or low. If I am leaving it in the morning and want it to cook all day, then I put it on low or medium and put them in at the beginning. If I am cooking it for just a few hours I put it on high and put them in about 2 hours before it is done.
