I made this Tuesday night for dinner. It was really good. I will make a few variations next time: I will only use 2oz of cream cheese (DH thought 4oz was too sweet) and I added about 3/4 cup of water. But this was excellent and super easy. Thanks for all the great recipes!

Trudy, is the condensed golden mushroom soup from Campbells or some other brand?? I looked for it at my little local store and didnt find it, but I will look next time I go to Safeways or Walmart.

I made this last night and it was yummmo! I couldn't find the golden soup so I used the regular kind (Walmart brand). I think the cream cheese is the key - and I used whipped cream cheese because that's all I had on hand.

thanks for sharing!

Ok, so I have a freezer full of venison. This is my first year with it. I have learned that slow cooking the stew meat in beer for 12 hours makes it very tasty and you can't tell the difference between this and beef. So, I am starting some now and I will make the stroganoff recipe with it on Friday. I will share my results! Sounds soo yummy! I love cream cheese!
