I believe you asked for my stuffed cabbage recipe. Sorry, I don't have a "formal" recipe--- it's a little this, a little that as I go. You will need:
1- 1 1/2 lbs. hamburg meat
cabbage
white rice
1/2 chopped onion
1 egg
salt & pepper
1 can tomatoe sauce (we usually use Hunt's sauce)
1 can tomato soup (usually use Campbell's)
1/2 can water
Rinse the cabbage. Fill the bottom of a big pot with water, bring to boil, put cabbage in. I put the core on the bottom (my sister removes the core first) cover the pot & steam the cabbage. The cabbage becomes softer and easier to work with. Let cool.
While the cabbage is cooling, mix together the meat, rice, onion, egg and salt & pepper. When the cabbage is cool enough, put a small amount of hamburg mixture in each leaf and wrap. Put the wrapped cabbage in a big pot or crockpot.
Usually there is cabbage remaining and I shred this by hand and add to the pot. (I like this part the best when cooked). Add tomato sauce and tomato soup and 1/2 can water. Cook on low for an hour to 1 1/2 hour on stove top or in crockpot for approx. 6 hours.
