Hi! I would like to make a crock pot meal for my dh and ds (17mo. old) that is easy to make (bec. it would be my first time using a crock pot). Although im assuming that most receipes for crock pots are easy because you basically set it and forget it.
However, there are sooo many great receipes here, that im confused and want to go to the store and buy ALL the ingredients to make ALL of the receipes in this forum!! (I guess that means im inspired, but i would spend to much $$$ at the store... )

Which receipe should i start with?? Im going to the store today, and want to purchase necesary ingredients for the meal...
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR ADVICE!!

Here are my favorite recipes. A few are mine, but all of them are on the crock pot forum.

CP Chicken Dinner
Easy Cheesy Chicken
CP Cubed steaks and gravy
CP meatloaf
Cp Creamy chicken
Beef in onion gravy
CP mac and cheese

Hope whatever you pick, it turns out great. Let us know!

Thank you for your reply araefinn! I decided to go with the beer pot roast posted by lainey, mainly bec. it looked really simple AND IT WAS!! But i had to make a couple of adjustments. I didnt hv the cream of onlion soup so i sub. with a cream of chicken. (yeah, i know... kindda crazy with beef huh?) OHH YEAH .... and i added whole garlic cloves to it!!! Those where soooooooo good!! We love garlic, and this way it doesn't stink up as much. jejeje
I'll most certainly be trying out different receipes, and i'll let you guys know how it went.
OHH and by the way.... there is no more pot roast left from yesterday... yikes. My dh took the rest for lunch. Next time i'll make a larger quantity.....

A super easy one is take chicken breasts (I usually dump mine in frozen) salt & Pepper to taste, mix a can of cream mushroom or chicken soup w/ can of milk, pour over chicken. I start it out on high (I'm nervous about chicken cooked on low), if it starts to dry out or look burned around the edges, then I turn it to low. Cook for 5-6 hours, serve over rice. YUM!!!

Oooops ... sorry. I forgot to do the update on this one. I entered it under the receipe I made. Well, i ended up doing the beer pot roast. It turned out really yummy!! (I should have added salt and pepper though, but since the receipe didn't say to and it was my first time, I didn't add any.) It was really tasty though, DH loved it!!

2 of my quick and easy (and low ingredient) recipes I use are:

1)ITALIAN CHICKEN

Chicken breast
Italian Dressing
(for 5 of us, I use 2-3 chicken breasts and 1/4 bottle dressing)

I cut the chicken into pieces, put it in the crockpot and pour italian dressing over top and cook it for several hours. Then I serve it over rice or pasta and veggies.

2) CREAMED CHICKEN

Chicken breast cut into little pieces
Cream of Chicken soup - undiluted. (or you can use a jar of chicken gravy)
(for 5 of us, I use 3 chicken breast and a large can of soup)

Put the chicken into the crockpot, pour soup over and cook for several hours. Then serve it over mashed potatoes and veggies.

I make this in the oven too. I use 2 chicken breasts and cook on 350 for 45 minutes.
