I'm doing Easter dinner on Sunday and our services tend to go a little long. We're normally sitting down to dinner at 1 and my inlaws normally eat at 11:30. So I wanted to throw everything into a crockpot. Here's my hot menu:
Ham-in a roaster
Mashed sweet potatoes
Green Bean casserole
Parslee potatos

I have another roaster and two crock pots to use. I'm making everything on Saturday. Do I just put the stuff in the crock pots/roaster to heat up? How long?

Any suggestions or other tips greatly appreciated!

you can do the green beans caserole in the crock...but you dont wanna use canned beans-go for frozen...and cook on low 4-6 hours.

I have a big roaster also....do you have an insert??

You could do 3 other sides in that and just leave on low while youre gone.

I don't have an insert that does the three sides at once...that would be awesome though.

Do you think using canned green beans would be fine for the casserol? It will just be in the crock pot for like 1 1/2 hours. Would that be good enough on low?

you should be ok with it just heating up in there.....the can beans are just obviously softer...so over cooking them and they'll fall apart alot.

You might wanna look for the insert..its nice to have-I got mine at wal mart for 20 or less, cant remember exact price...its great for entertaining.
