Im in search of a new crock pot and i was looking at the newest one... (Crock-PotŪ Versaware Pro Model SCV1600B-SS)

You can:
  • Saute
  • Cook
  • Serve
  • Store
  • Reheat

all in the same pot..... but it costs $79.99. Im not sure i wanna spend that much. I am planning on using it A LOT, so on the other hand it may be a good investment.

What can you tell me/advice me about this crock pot? TIA!!

I have seen it, I don't have it though. I really only use a crock pot that big a few times a year, BUT if I had a larger family this is the one I would definitely get. I love that you can multi-task it. I think I saw it at Target for $80 as well - A lot of money in my opinion for a Crock -pot. BUT like I said, I'd pay it if this were the size I was going to use all the time.

I have this VersWare one

Rival 5-Qt. VersaWare Crock-Pot Slow Cooker, SC7500 - Wal-Mart

If a 5 qt one will do - This one would be great for you. I LOVE mine. This one sells for alot less that the Pro model. I did not need the timer functions. Mine also came with 4 soup crocks that match the pot as well as a carry case. I use mine 3-4 times week - the thing I love most about it is the clean up - things just wipe right out of it.

I have this one as well and I love it!! I got mine from amazon.com a few years ago when they first came out ( I believe I paid $34.99). I use mine at least once a week. In my old house I had a gas stove and use to use it to saute prior to slow cooking all the time, but now that I have electric I don't do that anymore. Even on low it tends to cook things pretty fast which is actually a feature I like but some others may not.

If you did wind up getting the pro versaware let me know what you think.
