Nothing really old here. But I just *HAD* to have those little boy labels and the wire words so that's my challenge criteria.

My little boy tag is crooked but the twill was self-adhesive and there was some adhesive stuck there and I couldn't get it off.

I also realized that this could have been a cute Christmas layout after I did it.

You know when I saw this I thought that it was a Christmas layout. the black stripe reminds me of santas belt. I also was thinking it reminded me of when scrapbooking first started and blocking was really popular.

What's blocking? I've only been scrapbooking a few months.

And that's why I thought it'd make a good Christmas layout - it reminded me of Santa's belt, too!

Ok...here it is. It was actually easier than I thought...and it even turned out better than I imagined, except for that ugly edging around that paper. I know for certain that those scissors MUST go now!!!
The light bulbs were from a Sizzix die that I bought and had never used for myself (cut a few lights for others, but none for me) until now...
The paper was bought on clearance at Wal-Mart in early 2006...thought I'd jump right on using it...never did until now....
The paper the photo is matted on...used the edgey scissors to cut that (and it's out of the same pkg that the background paper is from).
The letters...Creative Memories stickers from ages ago (I have a sheet of every color of those too and two sheets of some colors!)
The black cord for the lights...hemp twine from Stampin' UP...never used until now (and I even bought every color!?)
The metal used for the bulb base...bought it on clearance at Big Lots because it was thin enough to cut with a Sizzix...all six pkgs. are still in my scrapping cabinet!
So I had more "blasts from the past" than I thought!

Blocking is when scrapping first came out and you would layer all your pics on different colored cardstock and then on patterend paper. It was before embellishments were big and the only thing that you would really have is maybe some stickers in the corner of the page. That was very edgy back then.
