Now that we have had a couple of crops... we (the moderators and Kim- board owner) are able to work out a few kinks. So we'll be setting a FEW ground rules to keep everything as fair as possible and try to keep things fun and simple. So here's how all future crops will work.

~The hostess(es) will run the crop and decide what games and challenges are played.
~ You must complete at least one challenge within the crop to be eligible for game prizes. If winner has not done so, the member in 2nd place will be awarded the prize.
~We ask that if you participate in the crop that you contribute something to the host. Either money ($5 is sufficient), stamps for postage, or scrapbook related items. Buying quality prizes for all the challenges and games along with postage can get VERY pricey!
~Even if you participate in the crop you are NOT guaranteed to win a challenge or a game. Therefore you MAY not win a prize. Names will be drawn by random (RANDOM.ORG - True Random Number Service) For example: Say Susie, Jenny, and Laurie all 3 complete challenge #1 one of their three names will be drawn at random and that person will be the winner.
~However, IF you DO contribute $ or stamps or whatever to the hostess you ARE guaranteed to recieve a RAK (Random act of kindness) for your participation.

Anyone can host. You must have at least 300 posts in order to do so. You just have to claim which month you want to host before someone else does. Remember, we alternate months between scrapbook and card crops.

I love scrapbooking...but am new to the online forum thing and have no idea what this is about but looks interesting...can you fillme in? Pretend I am from the computer dark ages...cuz I kinda am!

Basically, its like a crop you would have in real life.. but its online. We post challenges and once you complete the challenge you would post a picture of your page under that challenge. There are also several games to play throughout the crop. Let us know if you have any specific questions. And welcome!

I've never had a crop in real life. I just keeping seeing challenges and lovely scrapbooking pages and would love to participate. I read the crop rules. Just so basically I do the challange when posted and post my picture of my page/card? And also is December scrapbooking month or card month?

December is a card month. If you go to the crop host sign up post you can see the list of future crops/ who is hosting them/ and if they are card or scrapbook crops.

Crop Host Sign Ups

There are challenges posted all throughout the week. The person who posted the challenge will put names in a hat for whomever submitted a page/card for the challenge. The name she picks is the one who posts the next challenge. It is optional, but most everyone sends a little RAK for the winner of their challenge. (Nothing big...maybe a few primas, or stickers, or whatever you might have lying around that you aren't using)

Then each month we do a crop (usually a 3-4 day span where there are a bunch of challenges that you try to complete before the end of the crop). There is an optional donation to the crop host of $5 to cover cost of prizes and postage. We are switching off month to month with scrapbook crops one month and card crops the next.

I have only been to one real life crop and I organized it to raise money for JDRF. I like the online crops because all of my stuff is right here...I don't know how I would pack to go somewhere and crop. It would be hard for me. I am also one who likes to get it done when I am working on it and at a crop I think I would have too many distractions to get any work done. The online crops are fun!
