I was going through some of my recipes during the move and ran across this one. I made it last night and it's just about gone now.

Pound Cake

2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
pinch salt
6 eggs
choice of flavoring: 2 tsp. vanilla, spices, orange peel, etc.

Cream butter and sugar. Mix in flour and eggs alternately, starting and ending with the flour. Bake in tube pan in 300- 325 oven about one hour.
