Does anyone have a really good home made ice cream recipe?

Every year we have a 4th of July party at our house. A couple of times we have made home made ice cream, but it doesn't taste right. It's never as good as when Grandma and Grandpa made it when I was a kid.

The ice cream that I have made seems to stick to the inside of your mouth.
Does that mean we are freezing it too long, or do we need to use a different recipe?

Of course, here we are, approaching Independance Day again and I'm not sure if I should attempt making it or not.

Thanks for any help!!!!

we've been making chai ice cream. Just use 1 cup chai concentrate (Tzao) we found it at Target and I believe Walmart had it also, to the 1 cup tea add 2 cups half and half. You could also use the tea bags(8), just boil in 1 cup of water for 15 min. add 1/2 cup sugar, teas. of cinnamon, teas. of vanilla. then cool and add 1/2 n 1//2. The concentrate is much eaiser and about the same price.
