These are so great! Make sure you crush the oreos before you put them in the mixture, oh, and I didn't add all of them, it is kind of up to you how much to use.
1 1/2 c butter -- softened (use unsalted)
1 1/4 c sugar
1 1/4 c brown sugar
1 tbsp vanilla
2 eggs
4 c all-purpose flour
2 tsps baking soda
1 3/4 tsps salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cream of tartar
45 Oreos -- (1 full package of
Oreos)
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix butter and sugars until
smooth. Add vanilla and eggs and mix until combined.
Stir in flour, soda, salt, baking powder and cream of
tartar. Stir in oreos by hand (it look like there will
be too many oreos, but the amount is fine in the end).
Using your hands, take a scant quarter cup of dough
(approximately) and form it into a ball. Place dough
on cookie sheet and flatten slightly. You don't want
to flatten it too much, you just don't want it to look
like a ball. Form all the cookies this wat, and
space them 2 inches apart (at least) on a cookie
sheet. Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until light brown.
Cool slightly: remove from baking sheet. Cool on wire
rack.
