Key Lime Pie Recipe-i Made This Today And It Is Really Really Good!

Serves 16

3-14 Ounce Cans Of Sweetened Condensed Milk
3/4 Cup Key Lime Juice(i Used The Bottled Kind)
16 Ounces Of Cool Whip(in The Tubs)

Combine Milk And Lime Juice In Big Bowl.

Carefully Fold In Cool Whip.

Pour Mixture Into 2 Pie Crusts(i Made Homemade And Will Post That Below).

Freeze Pie Until Ready To Eat.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Graham Cracker Crust Recipe-this Is The Best Tasting One I Have Tried So Far-
This Only Makes 1 So You Will Have To Do Two Batches Of It For The Key Lime Recipe.

1/2 Cup Of Margarine Or Butter
1 1/2 Cups Of Graham Crackers
1/2 Cup Of Sugar

Melt Margarine In Bowl In Microwave 1 Minute Until Melted.add Graham Crackers And Sugar.
Mix.press Into Pan(i Used One 8x8 And One 9x13 Pan,there Were Silicone And I Like Using
Them For The Freezer Better Than Glass).microwave 50 Percent Power For 2 1/2 Minutes.
Then Full Power For 30 Seconds(i Did Less Time For The 9x13 Pan Since The Crust Was
Thinner).cool And Fill The Pans With Key Lime Pie Mixture.

My parents had (until June, when they moved) a Key Lime tree and we had Key Lime Pie a bunch. Nobody's can match my mother's, but I may try this. Although, I would recommend using real key limes if you can instead of bottled lime juice. There is a HUGE difference!!

That's not real Key lime pie. Real key lime pie is made with key lime juice not regular lime juice and is baked. Here is the recipe:

1 graham cracker crust
1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup KEY LIME juice ( you can find Nellie & Joe's brand in the grocery store)
3 egg yolks

Preheat oven to 350

Mix all ingredients together and pour into the pie shell

Bake for 10 min.

Allow to cool completely, then refridgerate for atleast 4 hours, preferably overnight. Serve with whipped cream.

Amen, sister!! I was trying to say that in a nice way. There really is a HUGE, HUGE difference between lime juice and KEY LIME juice.

But, I would try the method just for a lower cal version. (I would change it a bit from this.)

Our Key Lime pie is not the norm, but it is so good!! It has merengue and a regular pie crust. The key ingredient (besides the key lime juice) is Haitian Rum Liqueur. Just a teaspoon, but it adds a bit extra to it. Oh, I miss the key lime tree already!

The recipe calls for key lime juice but here in Michigan you can't get it so I put what I used instead.

Nellie and Joe's brand of Key Lime Juice is available in the vast majority of national grocery store chains in the baking section, it's everywhere. The Walmarts here also sell 2 lb bags of fresh key limes most of the year for $2.99, I use those too.
