2/3 c shortening
2/3 c butter
1 c white sugar
1 c packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
3 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 c cherry baking chips

Preheat oven to 375.

Cream together the shortening, butter, white sugar, and brown sugar.
Add the 2 eggs and vanilla,mix well.Sift together flour,baking soda,and salt.
stir this into the creamed mixture.Now stir in the cherry chips.

Drop cookies by rounded spoonfuls onto cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes.

(you can also throw in some milk or white choc chips to go with )
