Mandarin Orange Cake

1 c flour
1 c sugar
1 egg
1tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 T vanilla
1 small can mandarin oranges, drained
Topping: 1/2 c brown sugar, 2 T margarine, 2 T milk
Beat cake ingredients. Pour into greased and floured 8x8 pan. Bake 350 deg 30-35 min. Combine topping ignredients in small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Punch holes in hot cake with wood spoon handle and pour hot topping over cake. Serve with cool whip.
