Apple Crumble Pie
5 apples, pared and cored
3 T lemon juice
1/2 c. sugar
2 T. flour
1 t. grated lemon peel
1 unbaked (9-inch) pie shell
Crumble topping:
1/2 c. flour
1/2 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. ginger
1/4 t. mace
4 T. butter
Slice apples to make 5 cups. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Mix together with sugar, flour, and lemon peel. Spoon into pastry shell.
Mix together dry ingredients for topping and cut in butter to make coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over pie filling.
Bake at 400 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
