1/3 cup butter softened
1/3 cup shortening
2 cups flour
3/4 cups sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon Eggnog OR 1 tablespoon milk plus 1 teaspoon vanilla
In large bowl beat together butter and shortening on medium speed. Add half the flour, egg, sugar, egg nog, and baking powder. Beat in remaining flour. Divide dough in half. Cover and chill for three hours. On lightly covered surface, roll one dough half at a time to the thickness of 1/28". Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 357* for 7-8 miutes or until bottoms are very light brown. Cool and frost.
Storing baked cookies: unfrosted room temp.; 3 days or freeze for up to 8 months.
