I got this receipe from my Grandmother who got it from her's. I have found it called a few other names but this is what they called it. I get friends requesting this every year so I do it for gifts as well as just 'cause.

2lbs of sifted powdered sugar
1 stick real butter
1tsp real vanilla
15oz can eagle brand milk
7oz flaked coconut
chopped pecans or almonds optional

Melt butter and sugar, add milk and vanilla. Mix very well. Add coconut and nuts, chill until you can handle the mixture and then shape into balls. Melt 1 cake parifin wax and 1 package almond bark. Dip rolled and cooled balls into the mixture and place on waxed paper until dry.

I usually use a tooth pick to dip with and after the balls are dry I melt a little white almond bark with a little of the wax and drizzle over the tops of them for added flair.

That seems like a lot of paraffin for that amount of almond bark, doesn't the chocolate turn out very waxy? And I thought almond bark was intended for melting, so you shouldn't have to add the paraffin to it at all??? Just curious...

You can omit the parifin if you want to but the parifin makes the chocolate go on smoother, shiner, and helps it harden.

You can also only use 1/2 of a cake or 1/4 to try it and see if you want it or not.
