I am making this for a special xmas get together at my Moms house for Grandma this year.
My Grandma has alzheimers and its getting pretty bad here lately so we make things a little more personal and special with her this year.......for years her favorite thing has been strawberry shortcakes.....so this is the pound cake I am gonna make for them. This is my favorite pound cake...great with berries but also good enough to stand on its own!!!

2 c butter, softened
3 c sugar
6 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
3 c flour
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tspn salt
1 c sour cream
1 Tbs powdered sugar for dusting

Preheat the oven to 325.
Grease and flour a 10 in bundt pan(or 9 inch tube pan)

Beat together butter and sugar til smooth and pale in color.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla, beat well.

Mix flour, baking soda, salt,-mix into the batter just til smooth(do this with a spatula not the mixer )
Stir in sour cream.

Spoon batter into the prepared pan, and spread evenly.
Bake for 60-75min.
Cool for at least 10 min before flipping onto a plate, taping out the cake.

Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
