Laugh Old Time Ugly Duckling Cake

1 yellow cake mix
1 (16oz)can fruit cocktail
1 1/2 c flaked coconut
2 eggs
1/2 c packed brown sugar
1/2 c chopped walnuts
1/2 c butter
1/2 c sugar
1/2 c evaporated milk


Mix cake mix,undrained fruit, 1 c coconut and eggs,blend then beat at med speed for 2 min and pour into a greased 9x13.

Sprinkle w/brown sugar and nuts. Bake at 325 for 45 min.

Bring butter, sugar and milk to a boil. Boil 1 min. Stir in 1/2 c coconut.
Poke small holes in cake then spoon this mix over cake while still warm.

Top w/cool whip.

this sounds yummy.. but i have everything except the walnuts.. i do have pecans and almond... we are on a spending freeze and have pecan trees.

I think pecans would be even better IMO
