Hi

I was wondering if anyone had a tried and true receipe for brownies using cocoa powder. I bought some unsweetned cocoa powder and would love to make brownies but cant find a great receipe.

Fudge Brownies
1 c margarine or butter melted
2 c sugar
1/2 c cocoa
4 eggs
1 c flour
1 c chopped nuts, if you want

In a bol mix melted butter, sugar and cocoa. Add eggs, mix well. Add nuts if desired. Grease a 9x13 pan, pour in batter. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until brownies test done with wooden toothpick.

Brownies
1/4 c. cocoa
1 c flour
1 c sugar
pinch salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 stick butter or margarine, melted
1 t vanilla
1 egg

mix dry ingredients in bowl. Add butter and and vanilla. Stir, then add egg.
Spread into a greased 8x8 inch pan and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Makes nine brownies.

The first recipe is fudgey, the second cakelike brownies. You can double the second and use a 9x13 pan. Probably need to add a few minutes baking time.
We all love these brownies, even me, and I am not a huge brownie fan.

Here's an awesome recipe from allrecipes.com. I makes these for parties often and everyone loves them.

Best Brownies

INGREDIENTS

* 1/2 cup butter
* 1 cup white sugar
* 2 eggs
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
* 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Frosting
* 3 tablespoons butter, softened
* 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
* 1 tablespoon honey
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 cup confectioners' sugar

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8 inch square pan.
2. In a large saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter. Remove from heat, and stir in sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat in 1/3 cup cocoa, 1/2 cup flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread batter into prepared pan.
3. Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not overcook.
4. To Make Frosting: Combine 3 tablespoons butter, 3 tablespoons cocoa, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1 cup confectioners' sugar. Frost brownies while they are still warm.
