this is my moms recipe, my family loves it!!

2 C SUGAR
1 C CRISCO
1 C MILK
6 tsp BAKING POWDER
4 C FLOUR
3 EGGS
1 tsp LEMON EXTRACT
PINCH OF SALT
1 tsp BAKING SODA

Place all dry ingredients in a bowl, mix together and set aside. Cream together the shortning and sugar. Add milk, eggs and lemon extract. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Keep the dough as soft as possible. Drop by spoonfulls onto cookie sheet. flatten somewhat. Bake at 375 for 6-8 minutes.

Hint: you may need closer to 5 cups of flour, just make sure the dough is as as soft as possible.

These are SO good!!! Makes a big batch so I freeze the left -overs to keep them fresh!
