Duggar Family"16 Children and Moving in", was shown on Discovery Channel this past couple of days ago.

Thier show aired on 7/17/06 at 8 pm and second showing was 7/18/06 at 1 am.

I saw the second showing...and I was very impressed how they build thier home and how they got ready for the new move.

They even shown them how they grocery shop...man!! I am amazed. I am very impressed how each child has responsibilities...thier mom called it...I forgot what the word was. ..it is on the tip of my tongue. I forgot already..lol.

I should of set my DVR to record this show. I hope they reair this show again....not many of my friends saw this one.

I saw it too....It is amazing how they handle it all. They are an inspiration to me in regards to raising my own three children. The word you were looking for I think was "jurisdictions". That is what the kids called their chores. :-) The family also has a website with some neat recipes.

I did not see this one but saw 14 and one on the way and on the road with the duggars and 15 kids.

not that it matters but does anyone know what religion they are? they touch on the subject but that is it.

i can not imagine having that many kids or being pregnant that many times. Wow I give them so much credit. I mean she home schools and teaches them music plus keeps the house running plus they have their incomes they earn.

That's it, Tiger. "JURISDICTION" ...love that word...have to burn it on my brain, to remember.
My kids watch it too....they said that family has all J NAMES like us. Too funny, they noticed that.

Jseven, I saw the one where they had 14 or 15 kids and were starting to build their house. It was interesting.

I saw this too - very interesting. They must have the patience of saints to live in that little house for how many years while they were building the dream house? On a more controversial note - I was a little disturbed that once a child looses the "baby" spot in the family, they are basically turned over to an older child to raise. Don't you feel a little sorry for those older kids that they are being robbed of their childhood? I know - a big family comes with responsibilities. I have a sister that is ten years younger and I always felt it was my job to take care of her - I never minded that because my parents were always gracious and thankful that I was there to help and they told me that. I just wonder with all of the home-building and childcare, how much education do these children actually get? I'm not trying to start something - I'm just wondering....

(on another note, it's a little sad that I don't feel comfortable making a questionable comment on here - it just seems that so many people have been "attacked" lately - that's not what I'm looking for...)

This is my thought exactly.
