I was able to see the last 45 minutes of it and thought it was pretty good.

I never saw the 1980's version, my dh says he did....was it just me or did they really fast forward through a story line? I don't even know the characters names because it was just so quick and bam 5 months have gone by....it was okay but so hard to keep up with and try to know the characters. MY dh said the 80's version was a lot slower with the character development and took two episodes for the 'visitors' to actually appear. It didn't stand up to my expectations

I thought the same thing!! I thought they revealed the visitors WAY too early. The old show waited a long time before they did it. It was more of a surprise that way. I'd been keeping the secret from my kids when they ask about the old show. There was no way I thought they'd reveal it in the first show, especially since it was only an hour long.

I didn't even realize 5 months passed in the show, how'd I miss that?

Overall I liked it, but I still think they moved way too fast and I'm not sure they can keep the story interesting now that they did that.

LOL, sorry! I don't think it was 5 months, but maybe it was...BUT in the show they did say "the V's have been here for three weeks now" and I was like REALLY???? It's been thirty minutes and three weeks have already passed??

LOL! Yea I heard the three weeks thing too. One of my kids commented how cool it was they got to be the first visitors to tour the ship and I told her it just said they'd been giving tours for three weeks and she looked at me weird. I was the only one in the room that caught the three weeks thing.

The kids also didn't react much when they showed what the V really were. (don't want to spoil it for those who didn't see it) I think it would have been better to hold off till at least the second show. It was all just too much at once and it didn't keep the kids' attention.
