Oh my lordybee, i made it thru the full hour!
This could get long, bear with me.
I watched with an open mind, really wanting to see what Kate had to say. It started off alright but then she starts in with the contradictions again and it's really hard to feel sorry for her when she does that.
Did she look good, yes, i liked her hair last night, it was "softer", i think that was also an attempt by TLC to soften her image. At points when Kate starts to cry, i would start to feel some sympathy for her and then i began to wonder if she was crying because this is her last ditch effort to keep the show going?
Her long dramatic pauses between answers makes you wonder if it's scripted that way or is she carefully picking and choosing her words for better effect?
She talks about being the "forgotten" middle child in a family of 5. She would tell her mother when she was younger that 5 was just too many. Makes you wonder if she harbors anger over not being the center of the universe even back then? She's had a strained relationship with her parents since before the sextuplets were born. Which totally contradicts what she said in her book " Multiple Blessings" she talks about her mother coming to the hospital daily and praying with her, etc. She won't reveal what it is that led to her estrangement with her family, just that they disagreed on issues. Maybe they didn't like the idea of her and Jon signing up for a reality show??
She talks about the paparazzi, how they stalk her. She didn't sign up for that. It's not fair......etc. Still she will not admit that stopping the show will eventually make them go away. She wants to blame Jon's actions for causing all the paparazzi to hound her. Sure his stupid actions aren't helping but her running to every magazine to do interviews isn't going to throw the "P" people off her trail either! No matter how many times the interviewer tried to bring up stopping the show, Kate just refuses to admit that stopping the show will bring things back to normal atmosphere for the family. She said the kids miss the crew, the filming, and the fun. Does she seriously believe she cannot have fun with her kids without a camera crew following?? I think the kids miss the crew, no doubt, because they were probably the only ones who really paid any attention to them!!
Kate whines that going back to Nursing as a career is not enough to support herself and her kids on. OH PLEASE! I'm not feeling too sorry for her, of course she wouldn't be able to support herself and her kids on a Nursing career now that she's accustomed to the mini mansion, numerous vacations, spa visits, designer clothes shopping and $500 shoes. It would mean she would have to go back to living like an average working mom, that's so beneath her now.
If the money is there for the kid's college fund, why does she need to keep doing the show?? Go back to the Elizabethtown house that hasn't sold yet and i'm sure is completely paid off now and live within your means.
Then there's the church issue. Now she goes around giving motivational speeches at Churches and ladies groups and discusses her faith in God,etc. Yet when she is asked if they go to church anymore. She cautiously said " we do, but we haven't been there in awhile". WHY?? Because it's too hard, now that we are only 9. Are you kidding me??!!! Just because Jon left means she can't go to church with her kids anymore? She dramatically wipes tears and talks about how lonely she is, wouldnt this be the most important time in her life to finally reach out and mend fences with her family and turn to her church for support ,guidance, or counseling?? Don't her children need that support also?
Poor pitiful Kate, that was the imagine she wanted to portray. I think she knows that she need to put on the water works for sympathy, she knows once she is dropped from the spotlight she may never get back in it again. The world will move on to another reality show and she's nobody again, left to get a real job and get by like other lowly people.
She brings up Jon, only when asked by the interviewer. Now this is where i do start to feel some sympathy (only a little) for her.
Do i think she's ever had an affair with her bodygard.......NO, that is one thing i don't believe, i think Jon threw that in there to take the blame or guilt off himself for the things he was doing. Even though i still don't understand why she needs one when the kids aren't with her?!
Kate claims the issues in their marriage would have happened regardless of doing the show. She finally admits her treatment of him was wrong. Again, a way to save face since she totally slammed him in People magazine refusing to believe her treatment of him had anything to do with his sudden rebellion. In fact she called it Ridiculous at the time, he's responsible for his own actions. Apparently he's responsible for her's too?
I'm probably forgetting about half the good points of the interview but it's my conclusion that she just DOES NOT want to leave the spotlight, doesn't want to admit it's best for the kids, doesn't want to give up the good life. I think the interview was an attempt to save her sinking ship. The tears came out of desperation to hook onto a new t.v. career for herself.
The loneliness she brought on herself, now would be the time to lay low and reach out to her broken family, mend some fences, attend church again if that is what brought her some peace in the past. Because at the end of the day when the cameras are all gone, family & friends are all you have left.
Now if only Jon could get a good publicists or speech coach/writer, his side of the story might be interesting to hear, instead of blurting out things so fast like a hyper active puppy. Jon's done some dumb stuff, he's certainly not making a good impression for himself in the press. I think part of it's rebellion for all the years of controlling and belittling from Kate and another part of me thinks he's most likely heading into alcoholism or drug issues.Might explain some of his weird behavior lately.
OKay...........that's my 2 cents. I'm ready to hear what others thought.

Believe it or not, I did watch a little bit of this.
I think that her answers were for sympathy and that is all.
She doesn't quit because she really likes the attention, the money and the fame.
If she didn't like all of the negative stuff written about her, she would quit the show, end of story.

Didn't you just love her lame answer about how if she quits now the paparrazzi will just have 5 different magazine covers telling reasons why she quit. She thinks it will never end. That might happen at first but eventually they will move on to someone else when Kate is no longer in the spotlight. Honestly, she doesn't want the spotlight off her.

Did you notice that Natalie was getting tired of her putting the blame on other people and not really answering some of the questions directly?

Did any of you watch her dorky ex and Hailey on ET last night? This is just a train wreck that keeps going and going.

I thought she did very well. And what I remember hearing was her relationship with her parents fell apart shortly after the little ones were born. Not before but a little bit after.
I think the long pauses most of the times were for her own composure. Stress gets the best of all of us and I am sure she has just a little at the moment regarding all aspects of her life.
I was glad to see she wasn't taking childish stabs at Jon (boy would I be) sounds to be like she is trying to move forward and control her anger (I am sure she is angry I would be very angry)
I think Jon has become money sucking scum bag, and he pissed on the mouth that feeds him. What is he going to do now? I am anticipating the TLC lawsuit ending.

She saves her stabs at Jon for all the People magazine interviews.
I agree that Jon's become a loser but she's no saint either, she just better at hiding her coniving ways.

Oh my lordy bee, this one killed me too!!
I was thinking the exact same thing . So what if there are 5 more covers? At least it will END after those five covers , unlike now , when you are letting it go on forever.
I thought it was just as stupid of a response as to the reason they don't go to church anymore, "Because it's too hard, now that we are only 9"
How lame!
I can think of many many people in my church who have divorced or became a widow or widower. Others have lost children. But church just isn't someplace you stay away from , just because you have one less person in your family. If anything , most people rely on the church more in their time of need.
