Do the characters seem real and believable? Can you relate to their predicaments? To what extent do they remind you of yourself or someone you know?

I think they seem real and believable. I think that if I had been shot before, I would probably be alot like Reese. Maybe worse! LOL

I agree I thought they all seemed real and beleivable. Each one of them in their own sense just wanted to find peace and harmony in their lives. Well, except the bad guy. I can relate to a few of the characters. Reece with having a tragedy happen and then having to start over...I can totally relate that to my divorce and starting a new life with my wonderful hubby now.

I felt that the characters were completely believable! Reece and Brody were wonderful. At first Joanie comes off as being very cold, but as the story continues her warmth is unbelievable. She truly cares for Reece and takes a chance on new face in a very small town. I really liked Joanie. Here strength and independence becomes a model for Reece in a quiet sort of way. I was very disappointed to see the Sheriff was the bad guy. I fell for Lo being the bad guy at first, but then decided that it was too obvious. The sheriff is the last person that I would have suspected although he did seem to dismiss a lot of what Reece would report. Should have known! This was an excellent book to read!!

The book was excellent. I also thought Lo was the bad guy at first, but was surprised to find it was the sheriff. I thought the characters were believable, but maybe not so much the setting. Are there really little towns like that where it seems there are only a few hundred people and everyone knows each other? I always thought it would be cool to live somewhere like that.

I also felt they were real and could totally picture what they looked like in my head. I didn't watch the movie when it was out since I knew I would be reading the book and now I don't think I will because I'm sure I would disappointed. The town sounds like such a nice place to live, so pretty and quiet.

Not sure if anyone else agrees but I thought the ending was a little rushed. I felt like there was so much detail in the book that sucked me in, I would have liked to have seen her spend a little more time playing it out.

I am definitely a Nora Roberts Fan now.

I think they all seemed really - I even found myself wishing I could meet some of them and feeling sorry for the sheriff's wife - so figure!
