Did certain parts of the book make you uncomfortable? If so, why did you feel that way? Did this lead to a new understanding or awareness of some aspect of your life you might not have thought about before?

The only parts of the book that made me uncomfortable were the ones with Lo in the beginning and in the middle. I thought he was the bad guy for awhile (should have known better, she wouldn't make it that obvious). But I tend to not like men who think they are "ladies men". So, his character bothered me a little and reminded me of a guy I used to work with, who I am sure hasn't changed to this day.

When reece was observing the woman on the path getting beat that made me very uncomfortable. Any form of women getting hit or rape totally wigs me out. I guess I walways want to step in and change things if I can. It made me uncofrtbale to read about Reece being in the cooler during the mass murder at the restaraunt and pretending she was dead so that she would not be killed. It was also disturbing when she recalled seeing her freinds eyes as she was being shot. I've seen plenty of people who are in both physcial and emotional pain and that kind of eye contact is not easy to face.

I agree with those situations already stated. In addition, I felt uncomfortable each time Reece happened upon another distrubing situation that was occuring such as the laundry or the red writing in the bathroom. I can't imagine walking into one those times, much less several. She really was brave and consistantly used tough situations to try and get back to her former strong self.

I can't really say that I felt uncomfortable. But it was very suspenseful, I couldn't put it down b/c I had to know what was coming next.

Each freaking thing that happened to Reese weirded me out. I am such a scaredy cat, always thinking someone is in the shadows. I guess to many scary movies when I was little.

I thought the part at the end really made me uncomfortable. When the sheriff had them and you didn't know if they would live or die. I wanted to turn to the last page and see what happened, but I didn't!

I totally agree, also...
For me (and I am not prude I promise) the sex scenes were a little more than I'd like...
