Hannah and Daniel's relationship blossoms over time and they fall deeply in love. What are your thoughts on their relationship in the beginning and how it develops, and do you think Hannah was right in leaving Daniel when she discovers the other woman and child??

Again, I had a hard time with this. I felt like she could have and should have gone with him whenever she wanted to. But she felt a bigger loyalty to the Queen. I guess I wouldn't want to be betrothed either, but he just seemed so sincere. But then there wouldn't have been a story if she went with him sooner....

I really got into the book when she did end up with him, of course that is where history took the book to the war at Calais....but I loved the second half of the book much better. And yes I do think she did the right thing leaving him...it all ended up working out in the end, so I loved how that all played out.

I don't like the idea of having the person you are going to marry being picked out by your parents while you are just a child. That said, I loved Daniel and Hannahs love story! At first, I thought it was never going to work. But she ended up falling in love with him. It broke my heart when she found out about the other woman and child, and I agree she did the right thing by leaving him. And I loved how they reunited in the end!

While Daniel was not right to have the relationship with the other woman, I don't think Hannah was necessarily right in leaving him over her. Plus, he did the right thing by his child by supporting him and the mother. He should have told Hannah about the situation though. I do think she might have been right in leaving because of her mil and sil though. I think, yes, he made a mistake, but she sort of drove him to it. I am surprised he waited for her as long as he did. I was frustrated in the beginning of the book when she chose Mary and/or Elizabeth over him time after time.

But, like Stacey said, there would not have been a story had they done that.
