Does anything think it could have been Juliette in the casket? Jack was definitely the only one who liked her and Kate asking "Why would I go?".

I think it is Jacob in the casket. My dh, like I said before, is too obsessed with it. He found this website with blogs from people even MORE obsessed than he is. It looks like a "J" name so I vote Jacob. That would sort of make sense why he would want to commit suicide if he wants to go back to the island. Jacob seems to be the key to the "magical" part of the island.

Hmmm...very interesting. But do we even know if "Jacob" is a real person? Could "he" be that black cloud of smoke that's always killing people??

It was an okay episode, the flash forward was kinda weird and it took me a minute to "get it" a lot of unanswered questions. I'm getting frustrated but will probably watch until the end of the series...

Oh, yeah, he's real. These same people counted FRAMES to where there was a person sitting in a chair in the episode where Ben and Locke went to see Jacob. We watched it again in slo mo and there was a man sitting in a chair. You could very, very easily have missed it if you watched it at regular speed.

I thought it was great. Left too many questions to even list, but I think something was weird with that flash forward. It almost seemed like he was remembering it. Wonder if they are setting up a time travel thing? Or he was thinking about what would /could happen? I have no idea.

What I loved at the end was how they set it up all hopeful-like, they're getting rescued, they've beat the Others, etc etc, but at the same time with the flash-forward you felt a sense of impending doom. IMO, there is no way in heck they are getting rescued. I'm betting things get even worse for them there on the island.

The only other thing is that Desmond "saw" Claire and Aaron get on the helicopter, so maybe get Claire and Aaron do get rescued, or maybe something bad happens and they take the baby , I don't know. Remember the whole thing that Claire has to raise the baby herself?

Lots to think about until it comes back!

I told my husband about the newspaper clipping and the "J" name last night and he pointed out that Locke's first name is John and Sawyer's real name is James...

Yes but if you REALLY study that clipping, it says the last name is something like "Lamthem" or something similar.....
