I think I am hooked!!! I downloaded a couple of books on my Ipod and I am loving it. I laid out today (Geez, it is hot as He** in Georgia ) and listened to "There is a slight chance I am going to he**" by Laurie Notaro. It is fantastic. There are just sometimes that I am not able to read a book but I can listen to on - like when I am trimming in the ceiling that DH has painted. Does anyone else listen to these? And any suggestions if there is an online trade club for CDs/tapes or a place to download them that is cheap???

paperbackswap.com has audio books for trade.
I have not attempted a book on tape yet. I would think they would have to have a pleasant voice or something to keep me listening.I remember our librarian describing a road trip she took once and brought along some books on tape to listen to in her car stereo but she said she picked a tape with a bad narrator because he just droaned on and on and she said she had to shut if off because she didn't want to fall asleep at the wheel! LOL, i think that is why i haven't attempted it yet. If Tommy Lee Jones is narrating a book, i wouldn't care if it was Dr. Suehs books, i would listen to it repeatedly!!! LOL

I go through spurts with books On CD. I haven't actually done any recently. There are two places you can trade CDs/tapes.....paperbackswap and frugalreader. I'm aliadam at both of them also, and if you join either of them and give my name as a referral, I get a free credit!! Let me know if you have any questions.

i love books for my ipod itunes really) since I usually just listen to them on my PC while I work late at night.

I have to search for the link but there is one site where they are free because it's an ongoing project to transfer public domain books to online & digital formats.

Since they deal with books that are now public domain we are talking classic literature which I absolutely love.

I will get back to you with that link .
