Ok, I feel old

I used to remember being excited about the VMA's but last night I was so disappointed. Why?

For one:

1) the dresses were entirely too short: especially Jessica SKANKY Simpson ~ was it a competition to see who's butt cheeks or crack we see first?

2) I knew NO ONE ~ Except the big namers: Beyonce, Justin, Christina, etc ~ Who did an awesome job on their performances

3) Jack Black could have done a LOT better as host

4) Too much rap and Hip Hop performaces. No offence to the fans of that genre of music, but in my opinion, live performances of that kind of music is just a bunch of shouting...it's such a headache to watch. If I want to hear them at all, I'd rather listen to them on the radio of CD...live is just bad!!!! JMO

5) all the "rock" bands look the same now. I can't tell them apart!!! And is it just me or are they all young too?

I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo old

Coming from a rap/hip-hop background I can honestly tell you that today's stars are a mockery of hip-hop. I despise it. I'm ashamed of it. I am so sick of hearing ignorant babbling about someone's ass or tits. Rap used to tell a story. It's worthless now, the downfall of American youth.

As for the show, yes all of the rockbands look the same. Look at AFI, Panic! At the Disco and Fallout Boy. I could barely tell them all apart. They're all very adorable and 80s British punky, but not the most original in looks. I do love how they sound though

I really enjoyed Christina Aguilera, was entirely thankful that Jennifer Lopez didn't sing, and thought glittery gold wasn't the hottest look for Jack Black. I did like his friendship song though. I thought it was rude when that guy "Six" or whatever came out before Panic! At the Disco could accept their Video of the Year award so he could pimp himself. WTH was that about? So rude.

I don't get too much into the shows anymore. If someone else is watching it I'll sit down and watch too, but I wouldn't turn it on myself.

I completely agree. I am so tired of turning on the TV and seeing booty and boobs all over the place. How many ways can a genre describe a female's anatomy and getting laid? YOu know what I mean? Talk about something else: I don't care about your bling, your sex life, your cars....tell us a story! Thank you Cru5h for seeing that

AND again, those groups are the ones I am talking about. AFI, Panic and Fallout Boy look the same....it's uncanny!

I didn't even turn it on...I watched some of the pre-show, and that was MORE than enough for me.... I would have kinda liked to see ThirtySecond to MARS though (Jared Let's band) just to see how they did.....

Next time I tune into MTV is for a good Cribs episode ( might not be for awhile) or the MTV movie awards...they're pretty good

Anytime I'm channel flipping and land on MTV I never see any videos, always stupid reality tv shows about pimping rides, spoiled brats 16th b day parties, and real world. It's been a long time since I've actually seen a video so how can they have a video award show.

On the other hand I usually enjoy the movie awards they have once a year.

Forgot to mention that I saw a clip from the show and someone needs to commit Nicole Richie for anorexia. She looks absolutely horrible.

The VMA's is not the way it was 10 some years ago, I just can't watch it, all I hear is "bling bling, in da ding ding, yo mf, I am down for some big g's" type of music, and I am not against rap, at all. But come on, we can rap about something other then who ya slept with, and how many big g's you got, and how much bling you have. Who cares anyways? LOL!!!!!!
