This is Pink's opinion. Before celebrities go blaming George Bush for the world's problems, maybe they should look at their own lives and start there. George Bush might have sent men into a war that was going to be difficult but maybe he thought the world would be a better place because of it. Our countries problems are not solely George Bush's fault. We have congress, state legislatures and local government to also blame, democrats and republicans alike. Also, we need to make sure we as parents are raising our families right. The world's problems can not be solved in a day or a month but we can all do our own part every day.

I have not heard the song but I like the lyrics. No, even though I don't like this president, I can't blame him for everything either. I really like the part about hating your own child if they were gay.......
I do think that part of being an artist is voicing opinion. Whether it's music, photography or painting....every person in this country has the right to say what is on their mind. That's what makes it great to live here. I think that's the bigger picture. JMHO

 To the last two posts....
She most definitely has the means to voice her opinion, and as listeners, we can choose to listen or change the station. RE "war" type songs, there is only one song I can't listen to at all - Tim McGraw's "If You're Reading This" - not because it's bad, but because I can't help but bawl when I hear it (tearing up now just thinking of it!!!) My little brother was over there in 2004, and lost a LOT of friends in his group. Anyways, I change the station when that some comes on.
As for gov't responsibility, I totally agree on it being a joint effort/issue/problem with all levels of gov't - President, Congress, even the courts to a degree. It's much easier to "blame" one single person (president), than it is to blame all levels - the congress that makes the laws up, the judges that uphold the laws or not. Statewise, it's the same issue - MI has one heck of a falling economy, and it's placed almost always on the governor - when it's the House/Senate that can't pass a budget to save their lives! Gah!

I LOVE this song I'm not a Bush supporter (my car has a bumper sticker that says "He's not MY president" on it lol) - of course I don't blame him for everything that's happened during his presidency, but I don't support the vast majority of his ideals and actions. Just a side note though, the song isn't new...it's been out since April 06, but it's just getting a lot of play/attention now because of the upcoming election.
I also love her song "Stupid Girls" - I love that she's the anti-Britney.

i have this cd and love it and i love this song.. i'm not happy with how our country is being run not just by the president but our entire government as a whole...you also have to remember she had a father who was in vietnam and let me tell you my fil was in vietnam and my dh grew up in a house where there is a bad opinion of government and war and peoples rights so some of this may influence her music as well... i would say she sums up alot for me in the fact that our country is in a ditch and needs to climb out and we need someone to stand up and lead us in the right direction because it has not been happening for along time.

I like her songs, but I haven't heard this one yet. I'm not a Bush fan at all. I think he is kind of a simpleton, and I tend to think Cheney is behind more of his decisions than he admits to. He takes the fallout because he is commander, but I think Cheney wears the pants in that relationship. I agree with her on Iraq and no child left behind. And yes there were homeless people as long as this has been a country so that's no his fault, although I don't know what he has done to try and stop it or help families that are displaced. I'm still furious at him for his handling of Katrina, and his tendency to appoint chronies to positions instead of people who might actually be qualified.
It's one artist's opinion on how bad this country is right now, especially for the working poor and middle class in this country that are struggling. I'm frustrated to with this administration.

I Love Pink, but that line about Whiskey and Cocaine was bit of a low blow in my opinion and a bit hypocritical on her part, i do believe she used/abused drugs and alcohol in her teen years herself. Why bring up the past like that? Otherwise the rest of the song i can just chalk it up to being her opinion.

I love pink. Bush is a moron in my opinion. I am a democrat all the way though. I cried when Bush got re-elected.

I love the song and have owned the album since the summer. I had heard the song while picking my myspace song and loved it the moment I heard it. Yes it is political but during war time all Presidents expect to hear both support and no support songs. My husband a Marine (not active any more) was so upset with me for having this on my playlist. To solely blame Bush would be wrong but unfortunately many of her points are his own doing. Yes he does not support womens right to choose or gay marriage. He was all over that message when it was winning the religious sector vote. Pinks audience for the most part would be supporting both of those issues, so of course she will write a song stating that. Its a good song with a cool melody and her voice is sincere in the delivery. Any artist will use this time as a muse for their craft. Toby Keith did it and many more will follow. Toby Keith another great song but also can be quite abrasive for some. Saying we'll put a boot in your a@@, its the American way. We are losing support with many other countries and a main reason is our vigilant attitude. There is a place for all of these and more songs, its right here in the best country in the world USA.

Frankly- I don't care for both (nothing personal against Pink- I just don't care for her type of music- does have a decent voice though). I have heard this song through my dd (who also loves this cd) and I have no problems with the song- actually I think it is really cool. I know it is directed to the Bush-but besides a few lines that you know are meant for Bush- it could be good song for every President. For the most part- that is all what we think at one time or another for each president- especially if you are young, if you have compassion for people, and stand up for personal freedoms. I know that it is not just this presidents fault for a lot of the wrong in the world (although I disagree with what he does/say 95% of the time)- but in the position he holds, no matter who you are, what party you represent, you are the one who has to answer to everything- no matter "who" was the cause for each thing. That's JMHO though- please take no offense!
