Did anyone else watch this? I did and really liked it. Those kids are something else. Their parents must be so proud of them. (Well, maybe not Taylor's mom.) They give hope for our future. I had to record the finale Wednesday and just watched it last night. I must say I'm disappointed with the last episode. It seemed rather anticlimactic. So they gave away 3 bigger gold stars and their parents showed up - big deal. We didn't even get to "meet" any of their parents. So now what? What happens to Bonanza City? What about the kids? Do they just go back to normal life and Bonanza City just sits there until the next season (if there is one?) I suppose you could say they were successful with the town but I don't think they did anything fabulous. I don't really know what I was expecting but I was just not "satisfied" with the way it all ended. What do you think?

I was disappointed too, I watched it on demand today. I wasn't sure about the ethics of the show from the beginning, but then got sucked into it, what great kids!
The gold stars were sweet, but I wasn't impressed. I would have liked to see more of the parents too, some more insight into the kid's lives.
I have a feeling there was a lot going on behind the scenes that we didn't see, their clothes stayed way too clean and they seemed to always be well fed. It probably has something do to with working conditions for minors....

LOL I really enjoyed watching Kid Nation, but I would be dying of embarrassment if I was Taylor's mom. "Beauty queens don't do dishes" - I can only imagine what she'll be like as a teenager!

I got such a kick out of the little boy Alex...the genious-y stuff that came out of his mouth was hysterical. And Jimmy, the one who left in the first or second episode was adorable!

We watched this show also. The children were amazing. I figure it wasn't reality but it was good entertainment. We were hoping they would all get a gold star.

We watched too and although we enjoyed the show we also found the ending to be anticlimatic. To me, they didn't do anything to prove that their Bonanza City would have survived. Also, it would have been nice to learn a bit more about the kids in their real lives. While I do agree Taylor was a brat (and I would have been a bit embarrassed if she were my kid) she at least knew what she wanted and didn't bow to peer pressure so there is something to be said for that. I give those kids a lot of credit for toughing it out.

we watched as a family and my ds(6) said " boy that taylor would not make it one day in our house if she acted like that here" lol my kids must be learning something lol...i also think some of the kids matured alot i did not like greg in the beginning but he really proved to be a pretty ok kid... i enjoyed and did not see all the controversy that was played out in the media and my kids enjoyed watching it.

Morgan who won $50000 the last night is from here locally so there's been lots of stuff in the news about her, showing her back at school etc. I guess it finished quite a while ago, so she had to keep it secret that she won the money. Her siblings didn't even know although mom & dad did, but they all kept it quiet until the final night aired.

My girls and I watched that show and we loved it. We had a great time talking about what they would do if they were there and how they would spend the money. We all agreed that Taylor was horrible. My oldest, who is 10, wondered if they purposely showed her bad side and if she really was like that in real life.
I loved when the second kids father stood up and thanked the council for giving his daughter the gold star. I thought that was touching.
