The Biggest Loser season 5...couples is premiering Tuesday Jan 1 at 8 PM (est) on NBC.
Who will be wathcing?

I admit I watched season 1 and 2 and didn't watch 3, but last season got me addicted all over again...I love this show! I can't wait for this season and think with couples there will be some exciting challenges. Plus I much prefer Allison Sweeny as the host (this from a Days of Our Lives addict )

I will be watching! I love Allison. I don't watch Days anymore, but she is so much more compassionate than the other lady. (I forget her name) Biggest Loser is my favorite show!

I am a couple days late on this, but...what did you all think?

There was absolutely NO ONE who jumped out at me as a favorite. Usually I have one or two right away. I felt sorry for the girl who went home. It seems she must have pressured her dad into going, he really didn't want to be there. And for her to be so frustrated with his lack of work ethic and she ends up losing the least weight! She looked good so far after they showed her at home, though.

I heard that Jillian and Bob were going to start training together, but the producers eventually told them they couldn't. She has a contract through Season 6 and she says that will be it. She is tired of being made to look like the bad guy. (This came from her blog, which I don't have access to anymore)

I really would like to know the full story with Kim leaving the show. Did they just say, "Jillian's back, see ya!" or did she quit? Was there drama??? lol

I hope the rest of the season isn't as boring as the first episode.

I found it kind of entertaining. This is the first time I have watched this show so it's all new to me. I usually do not watch reality shows.

The thing that struck me s that none of them has anything on me! I have way more weight to lose! Also there's a big fact that they aren't addressing that is kind of annoying. The bigger and fatter the person, the easier it is for them to drop weight initially. So the football guys who had the most to lose, were bound to be the ones who lost the most. The young girls have the least to lose and it's not suprising that they lost the least! As a large large person I am having an easy time in the beginning. I expect there to be tougher times ahead. My mom who is quite slim has a really hard time with 10 pounds but I lost 30 lbs in 10 weeks. Just an observation.

Sarah, that is why they base it on percentages lost, It would be very unfair to base it on weight alone. They have addressed that since the beginning of the series, so that is why they don't talk about it much anymore now. (by the way, I love your avatar, I had it as one for a few months last year too!)

No one really "jumped" at me as a favorite yet...I wasn't sad to see Lynn and Jamie (I think?) go home though...I liked him but she annoyed me from the second she opened her mouth.
I did like the football players, the couple that didn't even know each other, and the divorced couple the bet out of all.

Oh my - totally addicted to this show too First - Allison is doing much better as host as the shows progress. At first I was like "uh-oh, bad move"...but toward the end of last season she was better - and this premier she definately sounded more sure of herself.

I LOVE the mom Betty Sue. I admit she is slightly annoying, but very entertaining . I also like the internet couple. Granted they don't know each other so have to learn to work together, but they also don't have the relationship to "ruin" by telling each other to get their butt in gear.

Really don't like the brothers who dominated the whole thing the other night. Don't know why ~ maybe they just seem too "Oh - we're gonna win".

Great show!

Right away I liked the blue team (the strangers) but I felt SO SORRY for the guy who was so sick all week. I have been that sick and it feels terrible. I can't help wonder if there will be some romance there .. once he stops puking.

I also loved the purple team (best friends). They reminded me of me and my best friend. I really hope they do well.

I also liked the orange team (the mother and son team). They are really owning up to their issues and I think they have some real potential.

I can hardly wait till next Tuesday!
