I was ready to jum p through the screen too! I did't know that they were from WI. I think it is really sad that they had to "resort" to their teenagers watching their children while they worked. Do you think that the girls were always homeschooled? Or was it just because then they could be the live in "nannies". Sad very very sad. I hope that they were able to turn themselves around.

I was shocked by this whole episode too. I couldn't believe all the chores/work those girls had to do - so sad. They are so young - they don't have the ability to deal with those boys effectively. I too hope the parents got a wake up call but I don't think they did(in my opinion, it didn't seem they really would change). That one scene where the 2 girls were talking about what it's be like when the cameras went away - so sad. It appeared they knew their parents were only putting on a show. and if money is an issue for daycare, doesn't every state have some kind of assistance to help pay for daycare? One question I had was are all 5 of the children from those parents(or are any step children).

I was sick to my stomach that whole show! I am sure someone will get in contact with child protective services since the show aired. The oldest girl really looked sick the whole time. So sad, plus those little boys are really suffering too! I hope we get an update on that family somehow!

I watched it this morning. I think it really needed to be a longer show or a two-parter (like "A Very Special Supernanny" ) because there was so much left open. Even Supernanny seemed to think that they weren't going to really stick with it. I wanted to see how the mom handled the boys. Something seemed VERY off with her, IMO. I wish they would have shown more...

OK, I didn't see the show, but now I really want to!

Did you say the older 2 were homeschooled but the mom wasn't there teaching them??? Doesn't the mom (or someone) have to be the teacher in a homeschooling situation?? I missed the show - so maybe they had someone, and I don't know much about homeschooling - am I wrong...

I'm so confused! Either way though - that's just sad!

Ok - I probably should have read the link first - online classes, huh?

Ok - online good - were they at least checking in on them to make sure it was getting done??? Online and all alone seems very sad - and not the point of homeschooling! Poor girls! How are they expected to get their work done if they're watching the other kids!

I wonder if their parents decided to homeschool them when the younger kids were born!

I clicked on the SuperNanny message board link from the newspaper website and read a few of them. They are all really angry with the mom, supposedly friends of the family have been posting that the mom is receiving death threats thru email and phone calls. Some people posted that the mom has a myspace page and belongs to a moms-of-twins online forum that she is very active on.
I wonder if people are going to show up at her place of business now?

ok, so i didn't see it, but if it was that bad why haven't the authorities been called in? what about truancy laws and the girls not going to school, how is their homeschooling getting done if both parents are at work all day? i though part of homeschooling was the parents teaching the kids. how can it be legal for a 16 year old and 14 year to have complete responsibility for those young boys? and there are options to daycare. there are government assistant programs to help pay for daycare. i can't see how they are allowed to do those things to their kids and not have authorities stepping in to correct the situation, that is abuse.

The girls are homeschooled on-line...they are in contact with their teachers that way (I believe they said it was through a charter school?) The parents are not actually responsible for 'teaching' them. The parents weren't actually responsible for anything it seemed. I just watched it with my DD and I was hurting for those girls, and the boys even. I am going to check out that link above, I *hope* somethings changed for the better, but the older girl said she thought it was just for show, what happens when the microphones are off and the cameras are gone.
The dad did seem to 'get it' towards the end, he is repeating the same relationship he apparently had with his now estranged parents.

I would have loved it if the parents had to do all those girls did for a day, plus try and get some work done and see just how much they piled on 2 teenagers!
