I agree that we can't diagnosis her. Only a psychiatrist who spends a lot of time diagnosing and treating her can. But I have said since several public debacles back, that I thought there was some sort of psychiatric thing going on with her. There's a difference between the type of "bad" behavior that people like Lindsey and Paris exhibit and that of Britney. The pictures of the night they were taking her away in an ambulance she looked totally out of it with glassy crazed eyes, yet they say the drug and alcohol tests all came back negative. So whether it's post partum depression, bipolar, or some other psychiatric diagnosis, I personally do feel there's something else going on besides bad behavior. All I really know though is that I hope for her sake and that of her family and children that someone can figure it out and get this quickly sinking person some help.

So, do I think she is bipolar? Possibly, but I can't make that call since I have never me the girl!!!! I don't think any of us can. We are not armchair psychiatrists watching it through a TV or computer nor should we be. JMO
i agree i also think it is very possible she is bi-polar it runs in dh's family and most of them were not diagnosed until they were in their 20's.. its not an easy diagnoses to just be made alot of his relatives were diagnosed with depression first and that was not what was wrong with them at all.. bi-polar can make people do crazy things if they are not medicated properly and they can convince themselves pretty easily they don't need to be on the meds... but like claire said i'm not the girls dr and honestly its sad but its not my business.

I'll give my very un-official opinion. I believe she is borderline personality disorder not bipolar. Bipolar is more of something you're born with. Borderline, you're born with it, but environment plays a BIG factor in it as well.

In response to a few comments by previous posters, bipolar can be something they catch in childhood, but often it doesn't become evident until early adulthood.

From what I've seen, I wouldn't be at all surprised if she was bipolar. Just from the things I've seen, it doesn't appear to be just your typical spoiled brat, celebrity bad behavior. However, I also agree that none of us really know her, so it's hard to say.

Whatever her diagnosis or problem is hopefully she is being honest with HERSELF because until she identifies why she is habitually making bad decisions and pursues the appropriate treatment whether it be pharmaceutical, psychiatric or good advice from an good mentor she will never get straightened out.

Can we just say she is a trainwreck. Bad choices, life of too many excesses, no boundaries, no guidance.

I'm bipolar (bipolar I) and Brit is definitely bipolar. I think having two pregnancies in a row caused a chemical imbalance due to stress. Properly medicated, I'm sure she could live a productive life but as long as she doesn't have her family around that's not going to happen.

Let's pretend for a moment she isn't bipolar...
She's also an uneducated person who probably doesn't know how to parent, take care of herself, or manage her finances. She's fired her long term staff and is alienated from her family. She just doesn't have the skill set to pull it together.

Either way this girl needs help. Usually people bottom out, run out of money, and then become a problem for the rest of the family. It's going to take her a long time to run out of money. So, until then, the trainwreck continues.

She is so NOT bipolar.
I do however, think she's got untreated post-partum depression.
She certainly is missing some bolts but is not bipolar.

I'm curious as to why you so firmly believe she's not.
