on music for your iPod (or other MP3), how do you spend it? What songs are worth it TO YOU to spend it on?

Would you buy a whole album or individual songs?

Hypothetically, of course........

Personally, I would never spend $15 on songs.

Here's what happened.....Tim worked over the road and his company paid for all the gas. When you buy gas at Speedway, you get points. When you earn enough points, you get to choose a "prize." He's got OODLES of points, so when we were in there the other day, we got a $15 gift card for iTunes since I got speakers for my MP3 player for Christmas. So, I have $15 to spend and I'm not sure what music is good anymore....I've spent lots of time in the iTunes music store sampling songs, and haven't come any closer to making any decisions. I love NOrah Jones, but a whole CD of her's seems too much since many of the songs sound so similar. I like country, rock, pop, some rap, jazz and blues, so I'm looking for some suggestions.........

Hmmm, that is a toughie! Sometimes I have trouble finding songs that I want on itunes so here is the list I would go for (from your choice of music you put):

New- No Doubt
Ramble on Rose- Grateful Dead (actually anything from Grateful Dead )
anything from the Beastie Boys
anything from Pearl Jam (State of Love and Trust is good)

that is a toughie!

I just don't listen to much music!! But I guess it depends on your tastes. If I were choosing, I would pick some good oldies.

For me, I love U2 so I'd pick a couple of their songs. I also love Sheryl Crow--she is great to sing along to really loud--good for when cleaning or driving alone! So I'd add a couple of her songs. I'd probably pick a couple by Rascal Flatts because I like them a lot, and maybe a song or two from the Foo Fighters b/c dh loves them and they make me think of him--and, well, I'm just sappy that way. I also really like some of White Stripes music, so I might pick out a song from them, too.

I'd feel like I was getting more bang for my buck w/ an assortment over an entire album.

I'd go with an assortment too, like Jessica said, you feel like you're getting more out of it. Taylor Swift's Our Song would definitely be on there (if you haven't heard it yet, sample it, it's good! (So is Teardrops on my Guitar). Rascall Flatts and Brad Paisley would be on there (I'm a Country Girl!) Rodney Atkins new one Cleaning this gun (come on in boy) is really good new one too

The rest I'd have a pretty eclectic mix- oldies, rock, pop, country

Oh and Paul Davis 65 Love Affair would have to be on there...I love that song...see eclectic

What I usually do is go check the top songs for different types of music online!! I never have time to listen to the radio or keep up on things! This is a good way to quickly get up to speed on the current top songs! Billboard Music Charts - Latest Music News - Music Videos.

Colbie Caillat! I just discovered her songs and bought her CD from iTunes and love it.

What's your favorite movies? Try checking for soundtracks from your favorite movie titles and picking various songs from those CDs!

I love music and my iPod. I love everything; hip-hop, pop, alternative, even country (sometimes) . My most recent downloads included: Shadowplay by the Killers, Low by Flo-rida feat. T-pain, Apologize by One Republic, No One by Alicia Keys, and some other odds and ends.
