Have you ever watched a movie that all the critics loved and people raved about, but when you watched it you thought....hmmmm....not that good? Which one?

I have two..."Tender Mercies" and "Trip to Bountiful". Everyone raved about these movies and one of my girlfriends told me they were her favorite movies. DH and I watched them and after each one we turned to each and said, "What the heck was that supposed to be about"? and wished we could get back those wasted hours of our lives. We HATED them.

Napolaen Dynomite! Everyone said it was so funny but it was the stupidest movie ever. I only laughed once because they had a llama and I had an inside joke with the person I was watching it with.

Oh yes tons of them. The first that comes to mind is Titanic. I thought it was awful and barely made it through it.

Meet the Parents with Ben Stiller. I felt so bad for Ben Stiller in that movie that I couldn't laugh!

Dead Poets Society, I thought it stunk. I kept waiting for Robin Williams to be FUNNY, never happened. Boring, IMO!!

I love Dead Poets Society!! But then I also have an English degree so I love it partly for geeky literary reasons.

I know there are plenty of movies I could list but the first one that comes to mind is Sophie's Choice. A friend of mine at work recommended it (said it was her favorite movie). After we watched it my husband and I looked at each other in disbelief because we couldn't believe how bad we both thought it was.
