Lost Premiere - bit of a letdown? - Page 2

My husband and I were kind of disappointed too. I get tired of them constantly posing new questions but never totally answering them. JJ Abrams did the same thing with Alias - he was always introducing new plot twists without ever tying up the old loose ends. There are still questions I want answers to from that show and the series ended last season! Unfortunately, Lost seems to be cast in the same mold. It still is a good show though and my husband and I will be tuning in next week to see what happens next

I didn't really care much about Jack's backstory though... That was the only snoozer part to me. TBH I don't care much for Jack or Lock - I wish they'd both die off (lock especially, I hate that guy!!)

DH and I have both decided that once a person has delt with their past, they die off. Boone had to deal with sleeping w/ Shannon, once he did, he died. Shannon had to deal with no one loving her, once Syied (sp?) admitted he loved her, she died. Ann Lucia made peace with her mother and her past, she died. I don't have a good reason why Hurley's girl died. But, maybe now that Jack has made peace and just wished his X to be happy, he'll die off?

That's an interesting idea - I'd never thought of it that way before. But...I'd be shocked if they kill Jack off since he, Kate, and Sawyer are pretty much the backbone of the show. Besides, Jack's problems seem to go way deeper than his ex-wife.

I agree that it was a huge letdown. We've only watched on DVD and were excited to be caught up to real time. Last night DH said he'd like to wait until NEXT year when season 3 comes out on DVD to watch it. I don't know if I can wait that long! I like to see Sawyer and Jack as much as possible!

I think it was a bit of a let down too, and as per usual, for me, I'm LOST!! I hope next week is better.

I loved the first five minutes, but after that it got slow. They are leaving too many things unanswered and bringing too many in to answer, in my opinion.

I think they tried to make it Planet of the Apes like. Shoot, they even had eerily similar music!

One question was answered - who teh "others" are. NOw we get to figure out how they remained on teh island after the scientist conducting the experiment left/got killed/died.

Why didn't Kate actually eat the breakfast? Why didn't Jack ask for her ex wifes new guy's name? And how did they get all that information on him?
