Maybe I'm the only one in the dark: Why does Kate paint her index fingernails white/pearl and the rest black?

I might add that she is really getting on my nerves!!

Gosh, guess I'm not too observant - I've never noticed that. Usually, those of us over 40 don't do that to our nails. Of course, she's had so much plastic surgery, she's beautiful, but fake - looks nothing like she did in the 80s.

I haven't been able to watch it in the last few weeks...how is she driving you nuts? I think the new Shawn is getting better, once he stops trying to act so much like the old one.

This Kate has only been on DOOL since the late 90's....that would be why she looks so much different

I agree Shawn seems to be getting better, but I still don't like him...Kate's nails always make me think of Anna Nicole Smith...She does a manicure with nude on the bottom and red on top...I don't like it...
Kate's character herself, I don't like...she looks too 'alien' .

I've been wondering about Kate's fingernails for a while too, it seems that her index fingers are always a different color than the rest of them, I did notice yesterday that the index fingers were pearl/silver and the rest were black/burgandy-ish. I've noticed them be opposite of that too, w/only the index fingers being painted black. I don't get it, maybe she's trying to make some sort of statement, if so, i'm wondering what the heck it is!! I think they put her in clothes that are a bit young for her too, but, as usual, thats JMO!!

2bearsmom, you're too funny. Yes, Deborah Adair used to play Kate. But Lauren played Margo on Bold and Beautiful years ago. Google her and you can see the huge differences. I know the hair helps, but she actually looks younger now. However, you can see how the nostrils are disappearing.

...huge difference in her looks from then and now...wow!

I read somewhere the fingernail polish thing is a tribute to David Bowie - I guess Lauren is a huge fan of his. Rather bizarre I think.
