Now this was my least favorite book of the series, so it might be my least favorite movie. There were some slow parts just like in the book, but overall I enjoyed it.

Did anyone else watch this last night?? OMG this was incredible. I happen to be flipping through the channels and this caught my eye, I ended up staying up half the night to watch it. Its an ongoing series that plays for about 2 or 3 hours every night. Its actual footage from WWII, combat, casualties, and interviews with the veterans that were there. This was excellent. It is a bit graphic, so not sure its for everyone, but I was rivited and glued to the tv. One of the people interviewed was a journalist that followed one of the units, and a nurse who treated the wounded. WOW. Did anyone else watch this last night?? OMG this was incredible. Obviously with the lawsuits going on TLC was and is not willing to show any positive footage about Jon. While i can understand that, they forget this is footage his children will see someday. Regardless of how awful his actions have been lately-i still think he's a good dad to those kids. Let me just say he's above and beyond hands on with those kids than my dh ever was for my kids or my father for me and my brother.
The first in this 2 part episode had Jon taking the kids to a baseball game.The kids are having a great time.Eating all the food Kate would never allow. lol. Joel falls and hurts himself but Daddy bandages him up. The kids are loving the mascots, hugging up on them. Then fans start approaching, mostly young ladies. Jon's enjoying the attention, but i can't help but notice the extremely snotty face Maddie makes when Jon tries to introduce her to a fan her age. She acts annoyed at won't even look at the girl. Looks like a little Kate Jr. in the making!
Later they show Kate on her anniversary,sigh, playing outside with the kids. She sets up an obsticle course and stands around like a drill sgt blowing whistles at them. Like an 80's teen movie with the evil phys. ed. teacher, she's even got the evil heckle down pat.
We get to see tons of shots of Kate's cleavage, which for whatever reason she can't stop displaying, it's a bit annoying. Then we get to hear the usual poor Kate stories, having to do everything alone, we once did this with Jon, etc. I can't help but want to scream when she keeps saying she's alone! OMG he's not a dead beat father that took off and left her to raise all those kids forever alone, he's got visitation and he uses it. I think she wants everyone to think he's never there.:rolleyes:Again, the editing of the TLC production crew. Or is was it because she doesn't have Jon to follow orders from her anymore?
They also touch on the training of the dogs, once again another spin on it to make it look like it's all Jon's fault the dogs are gone.She hated those dogs from day one, threatened all the time to send them back, all in front of her crying children and she didn't give a rip. Do i think Jon should have moved closer to take care of them, yes, but to blame it all on him is not right either.
Miss High Road Taker was not without her snarky remarks about Jon thru both shows. So nice of her in the clip where she and the children cook for the Ronald McDonald house to announce over the PA system " this meal was cooked with love from Jon&Kate+8: minus Jon" and slams the phone down cackling like she's so hilarious. Laughing and saying how witty she is.I felt bad for her kids because they looked totally shocked by Mommy's comment, one of the twins looked a little sad.
Then of course the comment about needing to use the invisible fence collar on someone......we all knew she meant Jon. Too keep him within his boundries.
The second half of the show was showing Kate on her book tours. She admits she's addicted to the attention the fans give her a book signings. No really we hadn't noticed that you love being the center of attention?!!:rolleyes:
Let's slam Jon some more. Show carefully selected shots of him greeting fans on the fenceline and texting on 2 phones at once while one of the "tups" is asking him for a popsicle. Kate insinuating that he does not spend any quality time with them when he's got visitation.Because we know she ALWAYS does between spa appts, hair appts, shopping sprees and book tours.
Oh probably the best scene never before shown, is Kate's public hissy fit over the Korea trip. Yet again she blames Jon for them not going on the trip. They had gone to get passport photos taken and get things set up for this trip. Kate explains how important she feels it is to show the children their heritage and ancestors.Funny that she doesn't feel her own family heritage is important for the kids, and she wouldn't need a passport to do it! She starts in on Jon telling him his shot looks like a mugshot, she mocks him about it infront of the children. He just ignores her or tries too. You can sense that Jon is just FED UP with her crap and how she's doing this in a public place. He goes to correct her by saying " you wrote the destination wrong, there's a big difference between S.Korea and Korea". This just sets Kate OFF......she asks him if he's retarded. How he's not supposed to announce to everyone where they are going.It's supposed to be top secret and he just blurts it out to everyone!!!Well, if she didn't start screaming at him for the public to hear they would have never know where they were going. Jon didn't say it loud enough for anyone but her and the camera crew to hear. She informed the public all on her own.Jon walks away from her, clearly ticked off at her for making the whole room stare at them while she's still ranting. Telling the kids what an idiot Jon is, etc. The kid's want to know why everyone is staring at them. Jon is able to interject with a "because your mom is over reacting". Of course we don't see and hear all of it, i'm sure editing left out the really good stuff. It then shows them all leaving the building. With Kate narrating in voice overs that Jon ruined the whole trip for us, and we didn't get to go.I think Jon knew that the trip would be a diseaster, it's obvious they cannot stand to be in the same room together and her constant comments were probably enough for him.Honestly i don't think the kids cared either way if they went to Korea or not. Maybe TLC can send Kate alone with the kids??
Sooooo yeah, the whole show was Kate, Kate, Kate. Like i expected. I'm willing to bet next week's series final is going to be a sob fest for Kate. Putting on the water works about losing her show and wanting us all to think the tears are about her torn up family.:rolleyes:

Before i'm accused of favoring Jon. Let me just say that i DO NOT agree with his behavior since the split. He's made some really stupid choices and its coming back to bite him in the rump. But it's hard to watch Kate acting like the Queen and thinking she's done absolutely nothing wrong. She claims she shouldn't have treated him the way she did, but i don't think she really means it. She laughs off nasty comments about him, laughs off old clips of how she went off on him.Never sincerely thinking she's wrong. She wants to blame everything on Jon.
Narcisistic is the word that comes to mind when describing Kate. For a woman susposedly so sad about her marriage ending she's the happiest i've ever seen her. Never seen her so put together and polished and smiling/laughing as i have in this last season.
