I was told tonight that a little girl had been diagnosed with 5th disease, and she was in the nursery on Sunday, which I was in there the whole service as well.

from googling, it seems to not really be a problem for mini dd~ just a childhood virus.... but for a preg woman, it seems to have lots of risks.

Any advice? should I call the OB in the morning and let her know that I have been exposed to it?

Okay, so I love to shop and I have sooooooooo been hoping that DD would be a little shopping buddy for me. (Shallow, I know. :o) Anyway, today, she was my PERFECT little shopping buddy! We went out for a "girls lunch" and then shopped for 3 1/2 hours and she didn't fuss or cry AT ALL! She seemed to really enjoy the outing.

What a great day! :Thumb Up:

Organics

What type of organics (if any) do you use for/on/with your baby?

Precocious puberty is quite common in American adopted Ethiopian girls, so we try to feed her organic primarily. My main focus is meats and dairy.

For the same reason, we use all natural/organic soaps, lotions, and hair products.

Our son was born Wednesday Nov 11th at 3:47 pm. He weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and is 20 inches long. It was tougher the 2nd time around, they were late giving me the epidural so I was in quite a bit of pain, I was around 7 1/2 cm dilated before I got it. But overall the birth went well, I am really tired, just wanted to let everyone know while I had a minute on the computer.

I know you can't please everyone when naming your child. There will always be someone who doesn't like it for some reason or another.

My sister hates the name that DH & I FINALLY agreed on. I know it really should come down to just what he and I think but I have also always relied heavily on what my family thinks. Maybe I just shouldn't on this topic?

My baby girl, Alyssa, is now 4 months old. Even though it was 4 months ago, I still have to share this...

At 36 weeks pregnant I went to the doctor and they were all excited because she had already dropped down in the correct position for delivery. Well at 37 weeks I of course went back, now that it was time for weekly visits, and she had flipped around and was in the wrong position. The doctor gave her 1 more week and checked her again at 38 weeks. She was still in the wrong position, so she made my last appointment on a Wednesday the following week when I'd be 39 weeks so she could check me one more time before the c-section just to make sure she was still in that position and that a c-section would actually be needed. If she was still in the wrong position she said the c-section would be scheduled for that Thursday or Frieday. I dreded a c-section, so I looked online on ways to naturally get a baby to turn. I found one thing that caught my eye. A Flashllight? Taking a flashlight to your belly and leading them in the direction you want them to go, could cause them to follow it and turn in the right position. So I tried it! When I put the light on my belly she seemed very curious about it. She seemed to want to touch it and hit at it. It felt like she was following it where everput the light. Needless to say at my 39 weeks appointment the docotr was completely shocked that she was head down and ready for delivery. The c-section was cancelled and it was time for nature to take it's course. My water broke 1 day before her due date and was delievered vaginally...
