If you suffer from insomnia what do you do to help it?

I have tried OTC products. I also have tried to adjust my diet. I have been on ambien for a good 6 months now. But, my insurance has decided they do not think I need it and so they are no longer going to pay for it. I have numerous health issues and without the ambien can not sleep at all. I tried temzapem (restoril) and it does nothing for me. I also exercise.

I feel really sleepy but I can not sleep. It is incredibly frustrating. So, if you deal with this too... What is there if anything that helps you?

Good morning ladies!
I hope you guys have an AWESOME DAY today! Do MORE than you did yesterday! Do something good for your body and snap yourself out of unhealthy habits and routines. Today does not have to be like yesterday- unless yesterday ROCKED your socks off!

What can you do you inspire and help others today? Im not talking about the normal things you do every day to take care of people. Im talking the LITTLE unexpected things that you can do and get nothing but warmth from helping someone. Opening doors, paying with compliments, smiling, BUILD SOMEONE ELSE up and you will build YOU!

Snap out of the feelings of self doubt, pity, and regret and DO SOMETHING. You are the only person in control of YOUR emotions and YOU are in charge of YOUR life! You know what you need to do to be happier, healthier, and stronger. Its always hard.. especially in the beginning to try and change something.. especially if that something is YOU! But if you've got a rad support system (I know you do here on MS!) then you will be successful at whatever you put your efforts into.

Hug more people, smile more, and move more.
ROCK TODAY! Tomorrow will come soon enough. Put your focus on RIGHT NOW!

Winter Hair Care Tips

The dry and cold winter can be very damaging to your hair. Hair easily becomes dry during this time of year from the dry indoor heating and the dry cold weather outside. Proper preventative steps need to be taken during this seasons to ensure that your hair does not get damaged.

Winter Hair Care Tips
Wear a scarf, hat or cap to protect your hair from the cold and wind, but make sure that it's not so tight that it will restrict circulation in your scalp.

Use a hair straightener daily.

Once you have your hair moist, lock in the moisture by running your hair through cold water, this will also give your hair an extra shine.

Don't go outside with your hair wet, you risk breakage; your hair will freeze if it's cold enough outside and may break.

Limit your use of "hot" items on your hair such as a blow dryers and curling irons.

If you need to use a "hot" item use a leave in conditioner before using the item on your hair.

Avoid taking hot showers or washing your hair in hot water, use warm or cool water instead, the heat can dry out and/or damage your hair and skin.

Hair products that have the word, "Replenish" on it is made to moistureize your hair. You should consider to use the hair straightener such as CHI hair straightener and GHD hair straightener

Try using a dry shampoo if you need to wash out your hair, one dry shampoo you can use is baby powder, simply sprinkle some onto your hair and use a comb to comb it off

I started taking yoga classes last fall, but couldn't keep up with the cost of them. Since then, I've been doing some yoga a couple of times a week, just the poses that I could remember. So many people discount the benefits of yoga and just consider it stretching. Do you think it is a real workout? I think if you put forth a real amount of time, not the 10 or so mins I do every couple of days, it can count as a good workout. There is a lot of calories to be burned doing some of those poses!

About getting my butt in gear that is! :Ha Ha: I was looking through old pictures last night, and I found one of dh and I back when we were dating. 50 lbs ago when we were dating! That picture has turned in to just the motivation that I need to get myself back on track. I constantly struggle with keeping up with a workout plan and healthy eating, but I do want to do it. I'm just gonna carry that picture with me everywhere I go, and use it as motivation!

I work a desk job and will do my treadmill as well, but I have come to realize I need to do extra on the treadmill in order to make up the 10,000 steps. I have even gotten DH to go walking around the neighborhood with me a couple of times. I just don't think he likes me going by myself since it gets dark so early now. Hope everyone has had a great week.
